Chris Hatcher is an award-winning broadcaster, writer, editor, graphic designer, digital media expert, and media educator, with over 15 years of experience in communications.
After teaching English and Media Bureau at an international school 2022-23, Chris is back in the U.S., and looking for work in communications, sales, education, or an intersection of those fields. Previously, Chris worked with Nikon from 2016-2022. In this role, he designed literature and advertisements, including brochures, booklets, and print ads. During the pandemic, he invented and pioneered an idea to record video demonstrations on how to use Nikon equipment, so that customers could access this material from the website. He also launched and cultivated a social media presence in his territory.
From 2014-2016, Chris was the voice of the Abingdon Falcons on WABN. In 2014-15, Chris helped WABN win the Virginia Association of Broadcasters' Outstanding Sports Coverage Radio-Small Market award. During each sport's respective seasons, Chris hosted From The Falcons' Perch, a weekly Abingdon Falcons' sports show. From 2015-2019, he was the host of The Dynasty Stash and Canton Dynasty Podcasts. Chris is also a member of the Sportscasters Talent Agency of America and National Sports Media Association.
Chris was the Managing Editor of SB Nation's Virginia Tech site, GobblerCountry.com from 2012-2014, and a regular contributor to the site both in the years before, and in an ombudsman capacity through 2019.
Chris graduated from Emory & Henry College in 2010 with a B.A. in Mass Communications and minors in Spanish and Sports Management, and a 2014 graduate of E&H with a Professional Studies Masters of Education (M.Ed.). He was also a part of the first class of STAA University in 2015.
Since entering the field, Chris has worked for Nikon, Sirius XM Radio, SB Nation, Rotoviz, The Baltimore Orioles, WABN, WCYB TV, the Bristol Herald Courier, and various schools around the world.
